Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients
- All-Purpose Flour: 2 cup(s)
- Baking Powder: 1 tablespoon(s)
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon(s)
- Baking Soda: 1/4 teaspoon(s)
- Solid Shortening: 5 tablespoon(s)
- crisco butter flavored is best.
- Buttermilk: 1 cup(s)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Make sure oven preheats for at least 15 minutes before baking.
- Sift all dry ingredients into bowl (not absolutely necessary).
- Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add buttermilk all at once.
- Stir until dough follows fork around the bowl. Do not over mix!
- Turn dough out on lightly floured surface, rolling out dough to about 3/4 to 1 inch think.
- Cut out dough into circles with either a glass or biscuit cutter (typically can yield about 8 biscuits).
- Bake on uncreased cookie sheet or baking pan for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
